Predicting the rise and fall of an open source project

Open source software and its rich and vast ecosystem is one of the largest enablers of modern digitalization, but is all open source equal? In this talk, we explore the rise and fall of open source projects by looking at community health from a quantitative perspective. Join us for a deep dive into the world of data to explore early indicators that may help us predict the success, or failure, of an open source project. Is it possible to determine whether or not a project will be successful, i.e, a good choice?

**This event will also be live streamed on YouTube, so anyone can watch it here without signup:

About Debricked: Debricked is a Malmö-based startup born out of a research project at LTH in 2018. Our expertise is developing tools for dealing with open source security, compliance and community health that are loved by everyone from developers to security experts.

Emil Wåreus - is a co-founder and Head of Data science at Debricked. Emil has been with the company ever since it consisted of a couple of guys in a small room with big dreams. Today, he's the brain behind the algorithms that lay the foundation for Debricked's product, all while conducting research at Lund University and taking on fun projects (such as cloning all data on Github) at the same time. In his spare time, Emil likes to code alongside a nice glass of wine and play with his cat.
