The AI Productivity Paradox: Tackling Software Fragility with Agentic Testing

AI coding tools are now used by 90% of engineering teams, accelerating development velocity exponentially. However, this speed has introduced a not-so-hidden problem: we see an 8x increase in duplicated code, 100% increase in code churn and a clear decline in application quality. How do we build faster without creating fragile, untrustworthy products?

This session dives into the "AI Productivity Paradox" and presents a part of the solution in the form of Agentic Testing. We'll break down how Squidler’s AI agent autonomously tests applications from the user's perspective, moving beyond traditional code-based QA towards automated manual testing. You will learn how combining agentic, intent-based navigation with deterministic validation can create robust, fast, and simple quality assurance tailored for the future of software development.

Speaker:

Mattias Ask - is the CEO & Co-founder of Squidler.io. He has been building and driving products for +20 years for his own startups and companies like Jayway/Devoteam, IKEA, Microsoft, and more. With Squidler he aims to empower people with AI-driven, autonomous, no-code web testing.

Facilitator:

Denis Sopovic - is a seasoned tech professional, began coding on a C64 in 1987 and actively participated in the 90s demo/hacker scene. He worked in Silicon Valley for a startup (1999-2000) and has been developing websites for international companies since 1997, with notable clients like eBay, IKEA, Vodafone, Telenor, Oatly, Akamai, Unicef and Axfood. Recently, Denis has focused on javascript development, accessibility and delved into AI research.
