Every year, Stack overflow produces a comprehensive survey of people who code all over the world. For the year 2019, the results showed that DevOps specialists are among the highest paid professionals in the field, and that the go programming language ranks as the 3rd most wanted language. How about we knockout two birds with one stone? In this talk, I will be providing a light introduction to the go programming language syntax. Followed by some practical use cases for day to day operations as a devops specialist. We will also briefly touch on some hot topics like generics, limitations of the language and practical examples from large organizations using go today for devops.
