Bayesian data analysis is a powerful tool for inferential statistics and prediction
and this 3 hour tutorial will get you up to speed with doing Bayesian data analysis using R.
The goal of the tutorial is for you to get an understanding of what Bayesian data analysis is and why it is useful.
After the tutorial you should be able to run simple Bayesian analyses in R.
Part ONE: The tutorial will introduce Bayesian modelling from a simulation-based perspective.
Part TWO: Introduction three packages for doing Bayesian data analysis: Rstanarm, Google's CausalImpact, and Facebook's Prophet.
The target audience is users with little or no knowledge of Bayesian statistics, but with basic knowledge of R.
Make sure to bring a laptop running R with the packages Rstanarm, CausalImpact, and Prophet installed.
To make sure these packages work try running the following script in an R session:
17.30-17.45 – Meet & Greet
17.45-18.30 – Part One - Introduction Bayesian modelling
18.30-19.00 – Meet & Eat
19.00-20.30 – Part Two - Baysian Data Analysis
