This is second part of the two part Bayesian Statistic meetup series by Fabio Garofalo.
Physics-compatible Bayesian Inference in Biomedical Applications. This session illustrates the use of Bayesian statistics for the measurement of microparticles/cells acoustic properties. As the determination of physical parameters is based on the underlying physics, statistical analysis must complement the physic model. This methodology is firstly illustrated in a general framework (dynamical system theory, statistical control theory and acoustophoresis). The session is led by using Python scripts/notebooks and the libray MCDGM (still under development). A basic knowledge of statistics and the knowledge of differential equations is required.
About the presenter:
Fabio Garofalo, PhD Chem Eng
Fabio has a BSc in Chemical Engineering and a PhD in Chemical Engineering Processes. His background is in mathematics, physics and scientific coding. He has research experience as an engineering physicist in the fields of microfluidics, polymer processing and modeling, and experimental data analysis in acoustofluidics. He worked in collaboration with Dutch Polymer Institute and DSM (NL), and currently he has a collaboration with Acousort A/B. He was a former tutor for the courses of Research and Development in Chemical Engineering Processes and Optimization of Chemical Engineering Processes at the University of Rome "La Sapienza". He is interested in continuum mechanics, dynamical system theory, statistics and (critically) machine learning.
