During the last year with IoT Malmö, we've had great speakers explaining what they to in their respective field. Internet of Things is something many talk about as the next big thing. Yet, for those who never tried, it might be hard to understand how the "things" connect. This workshop aim to fill in a few of these gaps.
Scenario: Imagine sitting by yourself in the office kitchen at 3 PM and no one has showed up for the non-optional social convention, yep, fika. Loneliness can easily be solved with company – the red emergency button sitting in front of you will come to rescue!
During the workshop we'll use an emergency stop button, connect it to a WiFi-enabled microcontroller, and send off a message to Slack (a common office chat platform). You don't need to be a programmer to participate as we will provide code along the way.
Participants should bring a working computer (Windows/Mac/Linux) and a micro-USB cable (like the one commonly used for Android phones). Our wonderful host and their sponsors will provide the stop button and microcontroller which you get to bring home.
During the evening will there be something lighter to eat.
