Revisiting Chapter 4 alongside Chapters 5 & 6.
What’s not to love about a Book Club? It's the perfect opportunity to exchange ideas and share knowledge with others. We've kicked off this initiative by reading the newly released "Building Microservices" by Sam Newman.
About the book
"Building Microservices -Designing Fine-Grained Systems"
"Distributed systems have become more fine-grained in the past 10 years, shifting from code-heavy monolithic applications to smaller, self-contained microservices. But developingthese systems brings its own set of headaches. With lots of examples and practical advice, this book takes a holisticview of the topics that system architects and administrators must consider when building, managing, and evolving microservice architectures."

How does it work?
Missed out on previous meet-ups? Worry not; here's what we did; We introduced the book and went through how the future meetings will be laid out, whilst getting to know each other. Every attendee received a copy of the book. The second meeting saw us welcome a few new members into the group and also saw some lively discussions around chapters 1-4. We also split into groups to discuss certain topics amongst ourselves.
In this third meeting we'll be revisiting chapter 4 and moving along to 5 and 6! We'll also have a discussion group running on Slack! Drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org to get an invite to our Slack channel. We'll be updating this information a little closer to our next meeting.
Building Microservices touches on a wide range of subjects, and will certainly provide us with much food for thought around several topics concerning software architecture. We’re hoping for some very interesting discussions.
Want to join now and missed the first meet up? We have a few places (but no books) left for anyone that wants to join us now, but they are limited and it's first come, first served! Any questions? Drop us a line at email@example.com
