One of Rust's superpowers is its support for meta-programming, with features such as hygienic macros, syntax extensions and quasi-quotation that allow performing arbitrary code transformations at compile-time. In this talk, I'll give a live tour of how meta-programming in Rust can be used to instrument code and build Web service frameworks or object-relational mappers, with the expressivity not far from dynamically typed languages such as Ruby or Python, yet with strong type and data race safety guarantees.
Jakub is an engineer working on the open source graph database project, Neo4j. His interests include distributed systems, compilers and emerging programming languages such as Rust.
